Light Filling My Bones
Poems by Dorothy B. Anderson
Illustrations by Donna Bruhl
OUR JOURNEYS in this world are mysteries; the ones of which Dorothy Anderson writes are, at once, enormous, from China to New Hampshire, and minute, the perceptions that lie within any human moment. Dorothy Anderson's poems convey the mystery that hovers around our moments and the clarity that can find the words to make the poems that make us feel sadness, calm and joy. As it grapples sensitively and resolutely with our coming and going on the earth, this is a wise book. - Baron Wormser
". . . a beautiful collection of poems . . . The somber but bright illustrations somehow capture the atmosphere of mystcal joy, sadness, and overall acceptance of the duality of life that is so prevalent in the poems." - The Midwest Book Review
The cover illustration by Donna Bruhl shows a chinese bridge spanning the maps of two continents, Asia and North America. The red dot on the map of china represents the beginning of the author's story while the red dot on the coast of California represents the continuation of her life in America.
